Senior Manager – Capacity Building

About Sambodhi Capacity & Learning Institute (SCLI):

Sambodhi Capacity & Learning Institute (SCLI) is the capacity-building arm of Sambodhi Research and Communications, dedicated to advancing knowledge, skills, and sectoral expertise in research, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), public policy, social impact, and data analytics. SCLI’s mission is to promote and simplify functional and sector-specific knowledge in these domains by offering short-to-mid-term international and regional training courses and workshops on a continuous basis.

SCLI’s training portfolio includes practical, hands-on courses tailored for individual practitioners, organizations, and government agencies, covering key areas such as policy analysis, sectoral research, data analytics, program monitoring, and evaluation methodologies. Our programs are designed to strengthen institutional capacities and empower professionals with the tools to drive evidence-based decision-making and impact assessment.

To optimize learning outcomes, SCLI’s training programs follow an experiential and interactive approach, integrating real-world case studies, peer learning, and problem-solving exercises. Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform the following key functions:

Business Development

• Develop and execute strategies for marketing and business plans, identifying opportunities for both new and existing clients. This includes tracking upcoming RFPs, leading proposal development teams, and building a network of relevant stakeholders to drive business growth.

Project Management

• Assist in designing and implementing innovative capacity development curricula focused on monitoring, learning, and evaluation (M&E). This includes delivering training on data analysis for a variety of stakeholders, such as government officials and civil society professionals.
• Manage Sambodhi’s capacity-building portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery and coordination with partners, consultants, vendors, and government agencies.
• Lead internal teams and project leads to ensure the effective execution of capacity development initiatives.

Team Management

• Foster organizational growth by developing internal competencies and enhancing the skill set of the team.

Enhancing Branding and Visibility of the Business Unit

• Contribute to the organization’s thought leadership through publications, webinars, and participation in forums focused on M&E and research.

Education:
Post-graduate degree in relevant social sciences or management field from Premier Universities

Experience:
At le 7-10 years of work experience in capacity development / technical support / Research & M&E.

Personal Competencies:

• Proven track record of successfully designing, managing, and executing large-scale capacity-building projects in the social sector.
• Prior experience in capacity development within monitoring and evaluation (M&E) or development research is preferred.
• Strong understanding of research, evaluation, data analysis, and related methodologies to inform evidence-based capacity-building solutions.
• Solution-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to create and implement impactful training programs for diverse stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, planning, and project management skills, with the ability to manage complex activities efficiently.
• Client engagement and stakeholder management expertise, with the ability to work effectively with state and central government departments, donors, civil society organizations, and academic institutions.
• Experience in leading multi-stakeholder collaborations and facilitating high-quality, engaging training sessions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in presenting findings and facilitating discussions across diverse audiences.
