Review and active support to existing CIFF grantees (Freedom Fund and Transparentem)

Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) commissioned a mandate to support its existing CIFF grantees in child protection to improve their Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems. This investment aligned with CIFF India’s strategic approach to reducing child trafficking, child labor, and sexual exploitation. The mandate’s primary objectives were to conduct an evidence review of existing literature around the grantees (Freedom Fund and Transparentem), review their M&E systems, and recommend updates to bridge perceived gaps and balance the M&E to CIFF’s expectations.

Sambodhi conducted an evidence review of the literature on Freedom Fund and Transparentem, conducted a detailed study of its routine M&E systems, and ascertained sustainable indicators. This included:

  • critical analysis of all literature,
  • assessment of the Freedom Fund M&E system and identification of gaps,
  • assessment of Transparentem M&E system and identification of gaps,
  • recommendations on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and data analytics for Freedom Fund and Transparentem, and
  • developing an MEL plan and roadmap for both grantees.
