Monitoring and Evaluation Support to Ashoka on Tackling Unemployment Through Innovators and Young Leaders

Through this program, the Ashoka foundation aimed at creating 100,000 jobs for unemployed and underemployed youth in India and Bangladesh, with a specific focus on women.

Objectives of the study were:

  • to develop a Theory of Change for the program,
  • to develop a Monitoring and Evaluation framework for the program, and
  • to develop a Monitoring and Evaluation Plan for the program.

Ashoka Innovators for Public commissioned Sambodhi to provide Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) support for the program titled ‘Tackling Unemployment Though Innovators and Young Leaders.’ Sambodhi’s role was divided into three stages. In the first stage, Sambodhi developed a Theory of Change (TOC) aligned with the program outcomes. In the second stage, Sambodhi broke down the TOC into key outcomes and identified specific indicators and methodologies to measure the outcome areas. Activities undertaken in the second stage were collated into an M&E framework. In the third stage, Sambodhi proposed a Monitoring and Evaluation Plan to monitor the program’s process and outcome.
