Assessment of Factors Influencing Nutritional Outcomes in Gujarat and Recommendations for Improving them

The consultancy’s objective was to review institutional systems at the state and sub-state level, that is responsible for the delivery of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions in the state of Gujarat. It was also responsible for recommending ways of further strengthening the delivery of nutrition services to reduce undernutrition in children, women, and adolescent girls.

Sambodhi was engaged in this assignment to conduct a situational assessment of the state of nutrition in Gujarat. This assessment was undertaken by planning and conducting targeted consultations (primary data collection) with various government, development partners, and civil society organizations at the State level and below. This included:

  • drafting and finalization of tools, 
  • conducting interviews and consultations at the state and sub-state levels, 
  • assessing the status of infrastructure, human and financial resources,
  • analysis of results gathered from secondary and primary data collection, and
  • presentation of key recommendations to the State for improving the status of nutrition in Gujarat.
