Localization of Sustainable Development Goals in Meghalaya

This module provides an overview of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within global, national, and local contexts. It also explores the use of composite indices to support data-driven decision-making for policy action on SDGs.

John Borgoyary, currently UNDP Regional Head for North East India, previously served as Programme Manager at UNDP India Country Office, specializing in Electoral Management, Administrative Reforms, eGovernance, and Access to Justice. With over 27 years of experience spanning various countries, including India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Iraq, he focuses on supporting state governments in achieving Sustainable Development Goals and building a strong network of development stakeholders in the region.

Prayashi Bora

SDG Associate - North East India,
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Prayashi, currently SDG Associate-NE for UNDP, began her career as a Research Associate at the Center for Sustainable Development Goals for the Government of Assam under UNICEF. Specializing in SDG implementation, planning, and monitoring, she collaborates with state governments and central ministries, particularly focusing on the North East Region (NER) and Union Territories, facilitating data-driven decision-making for governments and supporting SDG localization.

Mithun Chandravanshi

Programme Associate - SDG Acceleration,
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Mithun, a Programme Associate at UNDP's SDG Acceleration unit, specializes in project administration in Northeast India, boasting over seven years of experience in program management and policy implementation. His dedication centers on fostering inclusive environments by strategically leveraging existing structures to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
