Sambodhi is launching its own institute called 'Sambodhi Research and Management Institute' to cater to the needs emerging in the field of research and evaluation studies.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Development Research

  • The key purpose of the assignment was to understand the attitudes, and behaviors including access to and image of services that impact health indicators. The task included identifying key messages and acceptable and effective channels of delivery. The research entailed developing an IEC mechanism through recall, retention and reinforcement.
  • The key objective of the assignment was to develop NRHM – DHAPs, based on the framework provided by MoHFW, in four districts of Uttaranchal through multi-stakeholder consultations. The project involved identifying priorities at grass-root level and espoused an inter-sectoral convergence approach for required intervention at different levels to make the planning process more holistic in nature.
  • Voucher system is one of the PPP models being implemented in Agra and Haridwar district under IFPS II project. This scheme intends to partner with private nursing homes to provide ANC, delivery, PNC, FP services and RTI/STI treatment to below the poverty line (BPL) families. The vouchers for different services are distributed to the BPL clients by ASHAs and the clients avail the services in one of the accredited nursing homes, free of cost on the basis of the voucher. The aim of the study is to assess the level of satisfaction of beneficiaries with voucher scheme and establish cause-effect construct/key drivers for factors contributing towards beneficiary satisfaction levels. The study will follow a mix-design approach i.e. both qualitative and quantitative tools will be used for the study.
  • Integrated Nutrition and Health Project (INHP) was implemented by CARE in partnership with the GoI’s ICDS program of MoHRD and the RCH program of MoHFW, local NGOs and other partners. The project aimed at achieving sustainable improvement in the nutrition and health status of women and children. Study was conducted to ascertain the programmatic impact of intervention on nutrition and health status of women and children in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh as well as in Raiberali district of UP.
  • The ILO, in consultation with its Indian tripartite constituents and NACO, had developed a three-phase programme aimed at establishing a sustainable national action plan on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support in the world of work. Its development objective was to prevent HIV/AIDS, enhance workplace protection, and reduce its adverse consequences on social, labour, and economic development. As a midterm assessment of the project Sambodhi conducted a survey in randomly selected clusters of workers in organized and unorganized sectors in three States, namely Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand, with an objective to track progress in the knowledge and behaviour levels of workers.
  • In support of Government of India policies on population and in collaboration with the MoH, PSI commenced implementation of Phase II of its Contraceptive Social Marketing Program funded by Kreditanstalt Für Wiederaufbau (KfW). In congruence with the objectives of the Phase II program, the study intended to measure behavior change and delivery system coverage and quality of coverage as yardsticks for assessing true intervention.
  • Population Services International as a part of the social marketing approach was implementing the Hewlett EC project in Rajasthan to make the Emergency Contraceptive Pill accessible to the target population through Saadhan franchise network and chemists. The proposed study was intended to assess the availability of EC stock (brand promoted by PSI) at the designated outlets. The study also tried to assess the perception of the Chemists regarding correct use of EC.
  • The project has a specific goal of reducing vulnerability of community to HIV, and improved quality of life of people living with HIV and AIDS in project areas of Delhi. The baseline, targeted for specific populations i.e. general community (especially adolescents), truckers, female sex workers and people living with HIV/AIDS, intended to get estimates of key current level indicators so as to track the progress and assess the effectiveness of intervention.
  • The study was conducted to ascertain progress in achievement of envisaged project outputs and to assess contribution of outputs towards attainment of project purpose which included livelihood options, improved ability of Gram Sabha to identify and implement effective support for poverty reduction, and improved ability of district-level institutions to converge resources & respond to community driven initiatives for poverty reduction.
  • The NWDPRA scheme was operational with the purpose to increase agricultural production in rainfed areas through sustainable use of natural resources by adopting watershed approach. Mid-term evaluation studies were conducted of 16 micro-watershed development projects in U.P. and M.P. on behalf of TERI. The specific objectives of the state level evaluation were to assess the qualitative performance and impact of project implementation.
  • Study tried to ascertain the impact of collective group action in poverty reduction by ensuring right to development to all, especially vulnerable people. The project envisaged analyzing a central research hypothesis that collective group action can foster the right to development as essential right for poor and vulnerable people in fighting
  • The study was carried out to underline the reforms in the scheme, take the good practices into consideration and recommend changes for better implementation of the program on the ground. Household survey was conducted for a subset of beneficiaries in order to know the benefits and problems posed by the scheme and to assess how the scheme has helped them increase their household income.
  • The study ascertained the market share of Purak Gold and Purak Shudh iodized salt brand vis-à-vis the market leaders i.e. TATA and Annapurana. Study also suggested probable strategy for revamping product attributes of Purak Gold and Purak Shudh to be leaders among branded iodized salt market in rural U.P.
